Philippa is a Registered General nurse, qualified in 1992, and have been working for the NHS for 28 years in total since 1987. Her areas of expertise are in Orthopaedics elective and trauma, care of the elderly. She held the post of a band 7 Tissue Viability Specialist for the last 12 years. In which She has gained vast experience in managing a Tissue Viability Service.
Philipa has a Diploma of Higher Education Level 2.ENB Level 3 management of patients with wounds, Tissue Viability Dip HBG 20267.ENB wound Debridement, ENB 219 Orthopaedic Nursing also ENB 997/998 Teaching and assessing in clinical practice.ENB Care of persons with HIV/AIDS.
Caring for people with wounds is her currant and main area of expertise. she’s confident in treating patients with all types of wounds. Frequently carry out sharp debridement, use of Doppler’s and other modalities, which would support wound healing. Mainly she cares for patients successfully with complex and hard to heal wounds, that may pose a challenge with many existing co-morbidities. she’s professional and promote a high standard of nursing care which is research based. She also teaches other staff in wound care and I’m also involved in expert witness work, route cause analysis and in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers to name a few.
