Head of Therapies and General ManagerDr. Salman Akram is a distinguished professional in the realm of neurological rehabilitation, holding a clinical doctorate in physical therapy, along with dual specialist master’s degrees from the esteemed University of Leuven. With a Master’s in Neurological Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, as well as a Master’s in Mental Health Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy, and over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Salman has developed a remarkable breadth of expertise to address various aspects of physical, neurological and psychomotor rehabilitation.
In his roles in clinical and managerial capacities, Dr. Salman brings extensive experience in physiotherapy, healthcare management, and clinical governance. Through his distinguished leadership, he has led therapy and physiotherapy departments with excellence, possessing a profound understanding of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and operational efficiency. Dr. Salman’s leadership has played a crucial role in driving organizational growth and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in clinical settings. His professional approach is grounded in compassionate care, supported by evidence-based practice, and driven by a commitment to excellence, aiming to enhance clinical standards and foster innovation in neurological rehabilitation.
Beyond his clinical and managerial endeavours, Dr. Salman’s research interests lie at the intersection of neuroplasticity and neural connectivity, with a particular focus on bi-manual coordination. Leveraging state-of-the-art imaging techniques such as MRI and EEG, he has research background exploring the intricate mechanisms underlying neuroplasticity and neural correlates. Additionally, his work includes systematic reviews evaluating the effectiveness of technology-assisted rehabilitation, particularly in supporting gait recovery for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

CGMA Adv Dip in MA – Finance Manager Ananthy has been our Finance Manager at Ascot Rehab since June of 2022. She is responsible for managing the finance functions within the company including payroll and preparing management reports for the directors.
She last worked in a private healthcare company as a finance manager gaining vast knowledge of accounting function while she was there. Prior to this she also worked at an accounting firm which has helped her build a good foundation in the accounting field to choose her path forward and specialise in one sector.
Ananthy is passionate about her job, believing honesty and hard work are the keys to achieving her goal.

Hospitality Manager Abeer is Hospitality Manager at Streatham site, with a Bachelor Degree in Languages/Translation. Abeer speaks fluent Arabic and English. She always ensures that patients’ needs are met as they are her priority. Abeer is passionate about helping, assisting the patients and supporting their families, she is friendly and easy to approach.

Marketing & Communications Jihan is managing the Marketing & Communication department for the Ascot Facility in Streatham and Ascot Outpatient Facility in Wimpole Street. Carrying with her 15+ years of experience in Branding, Marketing, and Communication for multiple industries. She graduated from the Lebanese American University in Beirut with a degree in Advertising Design and she continued her education in Marketing from CIM. She is also certified as a Life Coach with specialty in people affected with ADHD. She is passionate about supporting neurodivergent people and people with neurodivergent traits.

Administration Officer Mohamed joined our Ascot Rehabilitation team in July 2022 and is based at the outpatient branch in Wimpole Street, central London.
He is gained his Bachelor’s degree in Law and has years of experience working in administrative roles in the UAE and UK.
Mohamed is the point of contact at our outpatient branch in central London, for both UK and international referred patients.
He is prides himself on providing a high level of care and makes sure patients and their families always receive what they need during treatment. Mohamed speaks both English and Arabic.Soussen Arrache Executive AssistantMA Business Management

Executive Assistant – MA Business Management Soussen is the Executive Assistant holding a Master’s in Business Management is currently serving as an essential contributor to the executive team. She brings efficiency, precision, and creative ingenuity to her role. With proficiency in Arabic, English, and French, and a background as an Office Coordinator, her organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail stand out. Outside of work, she finds joy in videography and networking.

Finance Assistant Yahya has a BSc. in Accounting & Associate of the International Association of Book-Keepers (IAB).
He has over 17 years professional experience in accountancy and worked as accountant in Middle East for well esteemed organisations, such as the Iraqi State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO)/ Ministry Of Oil, Jordan Ahli Bank. He also worked as an Accountant assistant in the UK for an independent Certified Accountant practice before joining Ascot Rehabilitation in October 2017.
His role at Ascot Rehab is to support the accounting team for all accounts, invoicing and finance queries. He is committed to producing the highest standard of work.
Yahya is fluent in English and Arabic.

Zena holds a BA in English Literature and has also completed a PTTLS qualification from Guildford College in 2013. She worked as a teaching assistant to autistic students aged 16 and over, with multiple learning difficulties and disabilities. She has also assisted in managing and running a family business for many years and has developed strong business and entrepreneurial skills. Zena is currently working with us as an Interpreter and Coordinator.

Ben Payne
BSc, MCSP, HCPC, ILM. – Clinical AdvisorBen is one of the Management Team and Rehabilitation Services at Ascot Rehabilitation and has held the post since December 2021. Ben is a trained physiotherapist, having worked in both the NHS and private sectors. Ben has specialist interests within critical care, oncology, and neurological rehabilitation. In addition, Ben has connections with the military. Ben has completed leadership and management certifications, leading to his progression within healthcare management.
Ben is responsible for the safe and successful operation of all aspects of the hospital including its growth and strategic direction. Ascot Rehabilitation is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, CHKs and CARF accredited.
Ben believes that the road to recovery is not without its challenges but one that can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
